If it is forecast to be very warm for Hamfest. Please see advice here for dealing with hot weather.

Please be sure to pack water, sunscreen, a hat and whatever else you need for a warm sunny day. Water bottles can be filled on site behind FRARS HQ.

Please DO NOT bring dogs (except assistance dogs) and please do not leave dogs in the car under any circumstances.

Location

FRARS and Cobham Sports and Social Club are located on Merley Park Road, Broadstone, Wimborne BH21 3DA.

Please use SatNav if you are unfamiliar with the area. FRARS will not be in a position to put out the street signs this year. If you don’t have a SatNav, please have a road map with the directions marked before you set off.

Visitors Entrance

The entry fee has been held at £5.00 again for this year.

Please note that we operate both a cash based and credit / debit card entry system. However, in case of connectivity problems with the card machine, please have cash ready as a backup.

The free car park opens at 8 am with the pedestrian entrance gate opening at 9 am prompt. Please note that the car park is located in the field next to the event site. This car park closes and must be vacated by 4 pm prompt at which time it will be locked by the site owner. The car park is marshaled by our Club Members. All cars parked at owner’s risk.

Separate parking is available for disabled badge holders through the main entrance to the site. Blue badges must be shown at the gate.

Traders

The main gate opens at 7 am prompt for trade pitches, indoor tables and car boot spaces.

Car boot traders do not need to book and can turn up and pay on the day. The charge is £15.00 per vehicle which includes entrance for up to 2 people.

Please note that for all those setting up early, we have arranged with the Sports and Social Club to open for food and drink from 8 am.

Indoor traders, field traders, hobby groups and registered charities can book online (preferred method). Please use the online booking system which can be found here.

Food and Drink and Other Facilities

Hamfest and FRARS are located in the grounds of the Cobham Sports and Social Club, who provide a licensed bar as well as hot food and other refreshments. This year we will be joined by Big Chief Ices again on the main field.

Children’s play facilities are also available on-site.

Accomodation

Hamfest is situated close to the popular holiday destinations of Bournemouth, Poole and Purbeck. If you’re traveling a distance then why not make a short break of it and include a visit to the golden sunny beaches nearby, the historic buildings of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy or, take a trip on the famous Swanage heritage steam railway.

There are many opportunities to find accommodation of all types and budgets which can be booked through the well-known online websites.
