Getting Licenced (Training)

At Flight Refuelling Amateur Radio Society we have a dedicated training team who can get you on the road to success. We offer full training for both entry level (Foundation) and next level (Intermediate) licences, including registration onto the appropriate RSGB exam.

We are an RCF registered exam centre with RCF approved Instructors and Assessors. Details of the RCF can be found here.

Foundation licence courses are run over a single weekend with the RSGB multiple choice exam paper sat on the Sunday afternoon.

Intermediate licence courses are run across 2 weekends with the RSGB multiple choice exam paper sat on the final Sunday afternoon.

We also provide support and guidance for the Full Licence exam which is held upon request once we have enough candidates. At present we don’t offer a course for the Full exam but do offer ‘primer’ days to assist students with the complex areas of the syllabus.

Enrolled on a distance learning course? No problem. We can take you through the required practical assessments allowing you to sit the exam the same day.

We can also offer closed courses to groups or organisations upon request. The suggested minimum age for training courses is 13.

To book a course, please check for course availability here.
